Sweet & Smokey Tofu Charcuterie (Vegetarian)

We’re big fans of big flavors, unique textures, and more importantly, versatility - which is what charcuterie boards are all about. That’s why we’ve partnered with best-selling author and food stylist Marissa Mullen of @ThatCheesePlate to create tofu charcuterie boards this holiday season. Check out this awesome sweet & Smokey Tofu Charcuterie (Vegetarian) using the Cheese By Numbers Method. A board showcasing the versatility of baked and grilled tofu, acting as an umami flavor for a meat replacement, paired with sweet and other smokey accompaniments.

Cooking Directions

Tofu Bacon

  • Slice tofu into thin strips, about ⅛ inches
  • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, tomato paste, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and salt and pepper
  • Place the tofu in a shallow baking dish and cover with liquid. Marinated in the refrigerator for 1-4 hours (can go as long as 24 hours)
  • Heat the oven to 350F and spray a non-stick baking tray with a light layer of oil
  • Evenly space the tofu strips on the tray and bake for 20 minutes. Flip and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until browned and crispy

Everything Seasoned Tofu Crackers

  • Heat oven to 400F
  • Thinly slice the tofu into 1/8 inch strips
  • Coat evenly with everything bagel seasoning
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until the tofu is golden brown and crispy

Breaded Basil Tofu Bites

  • Heat oven to 425F
  • Slice the tofu into even 1-inch cubes
  • In a shallow dish, combine the panko, basil, onion powder, salt, and pepper
  • In a small bowl, add the milk. Dunk each cube of tofu into the milk, followed by the panko mixture, covering all sides
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 40-50 minutes until brown and crispy, flipping the tofu every 15 minutes

Savory Green Goddess Tofu Dip

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed

  • Cheese: Smoked Cheddar, Le Cremeaux
  • ‘Meat’: Smoky Tofu Bacon using House Foods’ Organic Extra Firm Tofu
  • Produce: Cherry Tomatoes, Roasted Red Peppers, Spanish Olives, Cornichons
  • Crunch: Everything Seasoned Tofu Crackers using House Foods’ Organic Extra Firm Tofu , Breaded Basil Tofu Bites using House Foods Organic Firm Tofu, Smoky Pecans
  • Dip: Savory Green Goddess Tofu Dip using House Foods Organic Soft Tofu
  • Garnish: Sage, Rosemary

Tofu Bacon

  • ½ package of House Foods America Extra Firm Tofu
  • ½ cup of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Everything Seasoned Tofu Crackers

  • ½ package of House Foods America Extra-Firm Tofu
  • 1 tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning

Breaded Basil Tofu Bites

  • ½ package of House Foods America Extra Firm Tofu
  • ½ cup of panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon of kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • ½ cup of unsweetened oat or almond milk

Savory Green Goddess Tofu Dip

  • 1 package of House Foods America Soft Tofu
  • ½ avocado
  • Juice from ½ a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ tablespoon of fresh chives, chopped
  • ½ tablespoon of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
