Smart Pad Thai

Sweet and spicy tofu pad Thai flavored with lime and tamarind, and top with cilantro and bean sprouts for extra crunch.

Cooking Directions

  • Prepare noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Add egg; stir until barely set, about 30 seconds. Add garlic, radish, chili and Tofu, and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add noodles and cook for 2 minutes. Add tamarind water, fish sauce, and sugar, and stir-fry until sauce is mixed with noodles, about 1 minute. Stir in sprouts and scallions. Transfer to serving plate.
  • Garnish with cilantro and peanuts. Serve with lime wedges.


  • 2 pkgs. House Foods Smart Noodle or Tofu Shirataki Fettuccine
  • 1 pkg. House Foods Tofu Cutlet or 1/2 pkg. House Foods Extra Firm Tofu, patted dry and sliced into rectangular bites
  • 2-3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. preserved radish*, minced
  • ¼ cup tamarind paste
  • 3-4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes, or minced Thai chili
  • 2 cups bean sprouts, washed and dried
  • ¼ cup scallions, cut into 2 in. length
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime or more (if preferred), quartered
  • chili powder (optional)
