Cinnamon Apple Bagel Spread

Creamy and lightly sweetened vanilla apple spread with a hint of warm spice – try it on your morning bagel or toast.

Cooking Directions

  • In a heavy bottom pot over medium heat, combine the apples, cognac, lemon juice, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt. Cook without a lid for about 15 minutes, or until the apples are soft, and the mixture has broken down into a very rough jam. Set aside to cool.
  • In a blender, pulse the tofu, 1½ teaspoon cinnamon, vanilla, cream cheese and honey until smooth. Add in the cooled apple mixture and whip until smooth. Spread on your choice of bagel and top with the cinnamon sugar.

  • 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, chopped into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. brandy or cognac
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon, plus an additional 1 ½ tsp.
  • pinch salt
  • ½ pkg. House Foods Tofu Medium Firm, drained and pressed dry
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • Optional: 2 Tbsp. sugar mixed with ½ tsp cinnamon to top
  • bagels of your choice
