Delivering smiles and happiness to generations of families is our number one priority.
Our story begins with our parent company, House Foods Japan – the largest manufacturer of spices in Japan. Inspired by a passion to bring new flavors to the U.S., they embarked on a journey to promote Asian-inspired cuisine to American families.
House Foods Japan opens a sales office in Los Angeles, introducing Japanese-style curry products to curious American palates.
In an effort to expand Japanese-inspired cooking and promote healthy eating among American families, House Foods begins a joint venture with Hinode Tofu, one of the most respected tofu brands in the U.S. acquiring a 50% stake in the company.
House Foods purchases the remaining 50% stake of Hinoichi Tofu (previously Hinode), and with full ownership, House Foods America is brought to life.
Millions of blocks of tofu later, we open a new manufacturing facility in Garden Grove, CA, allowing us to increase our production.
Continuing to bring new ideas to Americans about what tofu is and how it can be incorporated as part of a healthy, well-balanced diet, our business expands to a second manufacturing facility in Somerset, NJ. Now, the freshest tofu could be delivered to the East Coast, Midwest and Southeast.
To promote environmentally friendly manufacturing, we install a photovoltaic solar electric system at our California facility.
House Foods Holdings USA, Inc. expands with the acquisition of El Burrito Mexican Food Products, a leading healthy Mexican food brand.
