Beef Chow Fun

Beef chow fun is a favorite Cantonese dish, made from stir-frying beef, fat noodles, scallions, ginger, and bean sprouts. Replacing the noodle with shirataki reduces 200 calories per cup!

Cooking Directions

  • Rinse and boil the shirataki noodles for 5 min. Drain water from the noodles. Set aside.
  • Marinade the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sherry wine, and cornstarch. Let this sit for at least 20 min.
  • Sauté the sliced onions with a teaspoon of vegetable oil or sesame oil for 5-7 minutes on low medium heat until it softens.
  • Gently stir in the marinated beef with the onions in the pan for about 6-10 minutes on medium heat until it’s cooked medium rare.
  • Add in the shirataki noodles, along with the stir-fry sauce, until all the ingredients are mixed together.
  • Mix in the bean sprouts and green onions as the last min garnish before serving.

Ingredients

Noodles:

  • 2 pkgs. House Foods Shirataki Fettuccini
  • ½ lb. of sliced flank steak
  • 3 stalks of green scallion (sliced in 2 inches pieces)
  • ½ cup of bean sprouts
  • ½ cup thinly sliced middle size white onion

Marinade Sauce:

  • ½ Tbsp. sherry wine
  • 1 Tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger

Stir-Fry Sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger (optional)
