Crispy Baked Tofu Nuggets in Rainbow Waffle Cone

Vegan and gluten-free, this tofu waffle cone taste as good as it looks! Fun and trendy for everyone of all ages.

Cooking Directions

Waffle Cones (Vegan):

  • Blend tofu in food processor until smooth.
  • Mix chia/flaxseed with 1/3 cup of soy milk.
  • Mix chia/flaxseed mixture with blended soft tofu.
  • Add vegetable oil and mix well.
  • Add sugar and salt and beat mixture for 1 minute.
  • Add flour and mix thoroughly. Let mixture rest for 10 minutes.
  • Plug in Waffle Cone maker and bake according to manufacturers instructions.

Crispy Baked Tofu Nuggets (Gluten-Free and Vegan)

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly spray the sheet with oil.
  • Drain the tofu. Wrap in several paper towels and place in the sink. Place a heavy object on top of the tofu to press the water out. Let drain for 10 minutes.
  • Cut tofu into rectangles that are about 1/3 inch thick and 1 inch long.
  • In a medium size bowl, mix the all the Batter ingredients together until all dry ingredients are fully incorporated. All the mixture to sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl mix the Coating ingredients together.
  • Dip 1 of the tofu rectangles in the Batter mix to fully coat.
  • After fully coated in the batter, take tofu and roll it around the Coating mixture.
  • Transfer tofu to oiled baking sheet.
  • Repeat until all the tofu pieces are coated and arranged on to the baking sheet.
  • Spray the tofu pieces lightly with oil to coat the tops.
  • Bake for 10 minutes
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully flip the tofu pieces. Spray the tofu pieces again lightly with oil.
  • Bake for another 10-15 minutes until the golden and crispy. Cool slightly and serve with sauces.

**Add food coloring to create your own colored waffle cone.

**Sauces recipe:

  • Herb Tofu sauce½ pkg. House Foods Soft Tofu
    1/3 cup fresh basil leaves
    ½ cup cilantro leaves
    3 scallions
    2 cloves of garlic
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    ½ tsp. paprika
    Salt to taste
  • Sriracha Tofu Sauce
    ½ pkg. House Foods Soft Tofu
    3 Tbsp. Sriracha hot chilli Sauce
    1 Tbsp. rice vinegar
    1 Tbsp. maple syrup
    ½ tsp. sesame oil
    Salt to taste
  • Tofu Garlic Aioli
    ½ pkg. House Foods Soft Tofu
    3 Garlic Cloves
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    1 tsp. Dijon mustard
    Salt to taste

Instructions: Add all ingredients to blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.

Waffle Cones :

  • 1/3 cup House Foods Tofu Soft
  • 1/3 cup soy milk
  • 1 Tbsp. chia flour or ground flaxseed
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp. egg replacer or chia flour

Crispy Baked Tofu Nuggets:

  • 1 pkg. House Foods Tofu Extra Firm

Batter for nuggets:

  • ½ cup soy milk
  • ¼ cup gluten-free flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 minced garlic clove or 1 tsp. of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt


  • 1½ cup gluten-free panko crumbs
  • ¼ cup yellow cornmeal
  • 3 Tbsp. nutritional yeast
