Sunomono Shirataki Salad

A traditional Japanese salad with thinly sliced cucumbers, green onions, crab meat and a vinegar based dressing with the added bonus of shirataki noodles makes for a refreshing salad.

Cooking Directions

  • Prepare Shirataki noodles according to package directions.
  • Combine sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, sake, salt and ginger (if using) in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Add noodles, cucumber, green onions and crab to a medium sized bowl. Pour sauce over noodles and mix well until thoroughly combined. Serve chilled in small bowls as an appetizer.

  • 1 pkg. House Foods Traditional Shirataki
  • 1 small Japanese or Persian cucumber, sliced thin
  • 2 green onions, sliced on a sharp diagonal
  • 2 oz. crabmeat
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sake
  • dash salt
  • grated ginger (optional)
